Newest Hornet Staff Member

I would like to introduce our newest faculty member. Mr.Nathan Schmersahl (pronounced like.. commercial)will teach 5th grade at V.I.T. Elementary this coming school year. He will also coach 5th or 6th grade boys basketball. Mr. Schmersahl did his block teaching at V.I.T. two years ago through WIU. A few notes about Mr. Schmersahl include: Birthplace: St. Louis, MO./ High School: Gibault Catholic High School/ HS Graduation: 2007/ University Attended: Western Illinois University/ Graduation: 2012/ Favorite school subjects include: Social studies and history/ Favorite sports: baseball, basketball, football, and soccer/ Wanted to be a teacher because: "I enjoy working with children and I love watching a student's reaction when he or she understands something."/ Hobbies: Playing softball and soccer, watching movies, and reading./ How has he spent this summer: "I am working for an insurance company. I have also played a lot of soccer and softball. This summer I also attended an abundance of weddings. I have been to 6 already and have 2 more in August."

Newest Bus In The Fleet

Today the district became the proud new owner of a new school bus. School buses get driven often and log lots of miles. This year it was Number 10's year for replacement. This is the newest bus in the fleet now. Those who ride #10 can brag about having the "new ride."
